Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is merely the first in a series of remakes under the “Echoes” moniker. Or at least that is what I think. This is based upon the fact that, up until the three games under the Fates moniker– Fire Emblem Fates: Revelations, Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest, and Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright— there had never been 2 subtitles to a game in the series’ history. Since there does not appear to be multiple versions of Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, it would leave open the possibility of more remakes. Looking at the definition of “Echoes” seems to lead a little more credence to this thought.

Closely imitating another’s ideas? That certainly sounds like an echo. But wait, it isn’t Fire Emblem Echo. It is Fire Emblem Echoes, as in plural. I’m not saying it will happen; plans could get scrapped if sales or reviews for Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia are particularly poor. I’m not guaranteeing you it is even in the plans, obviously. Hell, maybe “Echoes” is just a random, edgy word that they liked the sound of, or felt fit a single remake; in which case they merely should have used “Echo” instead. But the ball is in Nintendo’s court now. Are more remakes already planned?
